So, a soon to be father of a baby boy starts a blog, but let’s rewind the clock to see how he got there. My name is Henry Wallach, and it all began in my junior year of college. I was sitting in marketing class waiting for the teacher to take attendance, and the most beautiful girl I have ever seen walked into class and sat behind me. Instead of asking her what her name was like a normal person, I decided to wait for her name to get called on role. Finally the teacher said, “Lauren Gibson?”, and I heard the voice behind me say “here”. After I found out what her name was, I did what any reasonable person would do, and I looked her up on Instagram to see if she had a boyfriend. She only had one post on Instagram, so that was not super helpful. In her one post though there was no boy in it, so I decided to shoot my shot, since you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. I started trying different pickup lines in class like, “What did she say the answer to number 4 was?” And I eventually got up the courage to ask her out to coffee. My flirting tactics must have worked because she said yes (to my surprise). We continued to hang out when I was not at practice (I was on the baseball team), and I found myself not wanting our hangout times to end. We started dating my junior year, and on December 21st of my senior year I asked her to marry me. Again, to my surprise, she said yes. We graduated the following May, and 4 months later on September 9th we got married. It was not a massive wedding, or the fanciest wedding you’ll ever see, but to me it was perfect. The day I got to marry Lauren was the best day of my life. That day we vowed to be together no matter what the future holds.
